This can include your name, email address, phone number, business name and your message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, how long you stay and the website you came from.
We do not ask for your banking details, ID number or passwords through our website. Please do not send these to us through a website form.
3. Why we use your information
We use your information to:

4. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files that a website saves on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work and to understand how it is used. We use:
- Google Analytics to measure visits and which pages are most useful;
- Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move around our pages, for example through heatmaps and session recordings; and
- essential cookies that keep the website and our forms working and secure.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work properly if you block all cookies. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business and who may only use it on our instructions. These include providers of website hosting, email delivery, website security, analytics, and email marketing (we use ActiveCampaign).
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with a court, SARS or another authority, or to protect our rights. If our business is ever sold or restructured, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who must protect it in line with POPIA.
6. Sending information outside South Africa
Some of our service providers, such as Google, Microsoft and ActiveCampaign, store information on servers outside South Africa. When this happens, we only use providers that are subject to privacy laws or agreements that give your information a similar level of protection to POPIA.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or for as long as the law requires. Website enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after a reasonable period. Records for our clients are kept for the periods required by tax, company and anti-money-laundering laws. Website analytics data is kept for a limited time and is not used to identify you personally.
8. How we keep your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include password protection, website security tools, secure email delivery and limiting access to people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If your information is ever compromised in a way that could harm you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask us whether we hold personal information about you and ask for a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to us processing your information, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it; and
- complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we have misused your information.
To use any of these rights, email hello@visionaryaccounting.co.za. For formal requests for access to records, please see our PAIA Manual. To stop marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us.
